I was commissioned to re-design the packaging for this product. The original packaging was taking 30-45+ seconds in assembly. The insert was more like origami, less like packaging.
I created a thermoform that was much easier to assemble the products into, and insert into the shipping box. The results on the assembly line increased the efficancy by 28%.
I redesigned the AT&T GoPhone packaging in early 2017. We replaced two origami trays with a simple thermoform tray. This change reduced costs, improved assembly efficiency, and enhanced the product's appearance.
Blast Motion really like the iPhone packaging. They requested a user experience that was similar to an iPhones unboxing, with attention to detail. This package was really fun to work on.
The Final result was 2 thermoformed Bagasse(byproduct of suger cane) which is compostable, that fit into an outer box. The opening flap has a magnet for a satisfying "snap" when closed.
